McBride Contemporain is pleased to announce Berirouche Feddal's participation in Afrotopos, a group show curated by Diane Gistal at Stewart Hall Art Gallery.
Afrotopos is an exhibition that explores possible futures for the African continent based on the concept of Afrotopia. As an extension of the work of Felwine Sarr (Afrotopia), the exhibition considers Afro-contempraneity as a space of creativity and radical transformation. As such, it seeks to embody “the present moment, the psychological continuum of the African experience,” while offering a pluralist and dynamic vision of that territory. Through the work of seven artists, the public is invited to engage in a deeply reflective process at the intersection of history and speculative fiction, in order to reconfigure stories from the past and imagine new emancipating perspectives.
