"Working in photography, sculpture, and installation, artists Michelle Bui’s and Shellie Zhang’s individual practices share an obsession with gathering items and reconfiguring them in a studio setting. Their impulse to collect organic material as well as plastic and found objects explores the role of consumption, accumulation, identity, and the body in a world dominated by a culture of material excess.
