Stephen Schofield at the Musée National Adrien Dubouché

Inc(l)assable – 30 years of CRAFT Limoges

McBride Contemporain is proud to announce that Stephen Schofield's artwork Florès is currently on show at the Musée national Adrien Dubouché in Limoges, France.

The Florès ensemble is a work composed of 7 sculptures that highlight the phenomenon of porcelain shrinkage during its creation process, with seven successive generations of castings producing the same figure, but smaller and smaller. This process engenders a tension between fascination and disquiet due to the reduction in size, the loss of realistic detail and the accumulation of parasitic detail.

Florès is part of the first part of the exhibition Inc(l)assable, presented in the permanent collection of the Musée Adrien Dubouché in Limoges. This first installment will be on view at the museum until June 18, 2023.
