An artwork by Berirouche Feddal joins the Montreal City Collection

McBride Contemporain is delighted to announce that the artwork La terre fume. Les prières tombent (2025) by Berirouche Feddal has been recently acquired by the municipal art collection of Montreal following his exhibition at the Maison de la culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal.

Berirouche Feddal explores a variety of themes through his practice, including African popular culture, African utopia, cultural traces of the mythical and of religion, postcolonial studies, and the indigenization of narratives, as well as experiences related to his own migration. His work can also be found in the collections of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, Collection Desjardins, TD Bank, RBC Collection, Hydro-Québec, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and Global Affairs Canada (Government of Canada).
