SYLVIE BOUCHARD
Sylvie Bouchard lives and works in Montreal. After studying visual arts at the University of Ottawa, she has dedicated herself to painting since the early 1980s. Her work has been the subject of major institutional exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, as well as solo shows at the Musée régional de Rimouski and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in Lethbridge. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions across Canada and abroad, at venues including the Musée d’art de Joliette, the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver, the Art Gallery of Ontario, OBORO, Occurrence, the Galerie d’art de l’Université de Sherbrooke, and Galerie Division. Her work is currently featured in a touring exhibition presented at three major museums in Mexico.
Her works are held in prestigious public collections, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Musée d’art de Joliette, the Musée régional de Rimouski, the National Bank of Canada, the Royal Bank of Canada, the Canada Council Art Bank, as well as numerous notable corporate and private collections.
