McBride Contemporain is honoured to announce that the historical installation entitled You Say Sweeter, I say Sweater (1992) by Stephen Schofield is now a part of the Giverny Capital collection. This ensemble is representative of a series of textile works produced by the artist throughout his career, showcasing his exploration of membrane, envelope, and air devices, as well as the interplay of dichotomies such as inside and outside, empty and full.
Stephen Schofield is a multidisciplinary artist born in Toronto, Ontario who currently lives and works in Montreal. Through drawing, sculpture, and performance, the figurative representation of the human body is at the core of his artistic practice.
