McBride Contemporain is delighted to share Lorraine Simms’ exhibition Eidolons, which is currently taking place at OBORO in Montréal until December 10.
In this exhibition Montreal artist Lorraine Simms presents drawings that represent the cast shadows of animal bones and skins. These spirit-images, or Eidolons, propose an unexpected and surprising representation of the natural world. Suggesting presence and absence, Simms’ drawings become poignant reminders of key environmental issues such as habitat loss and the extinction of animal species.
